Navigation skills courses for walkers
We run a range of two-day navigation courses in the throughout the year as part of the National Navigation Award Scheme.
These courses are ideal for anyone wishing to learn everything about navigation, from simple techniques through to navigation at night.
Our courses follow the syllabus for the relevent level of the National Navigation Award Scheme courses, and we also offer assessment courses at Bronze and Silver levels in association with the NNAS.
Our courses are at three different skill levels:
Bronze Award - simple navigation techniques for those with little or no experience, or for those struggling to grasp the basic skills.
Silver Award - more complex techniques involving measuring distances, using the compass to take and follow bearings, etc. Ideal for those with the basic skills who wish to progress.
Gold Award - learn how to navigate in bad visibility, how to relocate, how to navigate around obstacles, etc.
